Electronics Technician
We are currently seeking to recruit an outstanding Electronics Technician with a proven passion for product development as part of our growing, dynamic technical team.
You will get the chance to work alongside other talented individuals on a diverse range of exciting and challenging projects, from well-known consumer products and novel transport solutions to safety-critical medical devices, knowing that with your input, you can make a real difference to people’s lives.
We operate in multi-functional project teams and our electronics team needs to work closely with designers, mechanical engineers, software engineers and other skill groups to integrate the visual and functional aspects of a product, creating class-leading designs.
What we expect
A great hands-on technician with excellent soldering skills and experience hand-reworking PCBs including the smallest surface mount components.
Experience of working in a development, not production, environment, hand-building circuit modifications or prototype circuit breadboards given an informal brief.
Good organisational skills: you will be responsible for upkeep of the electronics lab and equipment.
Familiarity with using electronics CAD systems to find information on PCB designs, progressing to PCB component creation and layout of test boards.
A can-do attitude with the ability to assimilate new information and learn new skills very quickly in a dynamic, consultancy environment.
Good verbal and written communication skills with colleagues. You will need to interact directly with the whole of the DCA team, receiving requests from multiple projects and managing your own time.
An enthusiastic, hardworking attitude and pride in your work. People at DCA are passionate about the creation and delivery of new products.
What you need
Direct experience hand-soldering electronics to a very high standard, including tiny surface mount components.
A working knowledge of PCBs and electronic circuit principles.
A relevant electronics qualification to supplement your skills and experience.
We will expect you to be able to work in our Warwick studios and you must, by the commencement of employment, have the right to work in the UK.
What we offer
The opportunity to work collaboratively with world-leading skill and sector experts on fascinating design and development projects with global impact, often seeing projects through from the initial exploratory front end to launch.
A hands-on role with more independence than working in a production environment, working as part of a design and development team on varied projects and solving problems.
You will get to work with some of the world’s most exciting and innovative brands and companies, including Bentley, GSK, Reckitt, Hitachi, Rolls-Royce and Sanofi, to tackle some of the most challenging issues.
The opportunity to grow with regular professional and technical development opportunities.
